Heavenly Father,
Today, I come before You, Lord, with a humbled and grateful heart.
On this Good Friday, I pause to remember the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. The weight of the cross… the pain He endured… the love that held Him there. Thank You, God, for a love so deep that it chose the cross for me.
Your Word reminds us in Matthew 27:50–51 that when Jesus cried out and gave up His spirit, the veil was torn. In that moment, You made a way for me to come straight to You, not because I earned it, but because He gave His life for mine. Father, thank You for tearing down every barrier between You and Your children.
Jesus, thank You for the cross. Thank You for the nails, the suffering, and the sacrifice. Thank You for choosing obedience even unto death. Because You died, I can live. Because You surrendered, I am free. Because You endured the cross, I have hope. Lord, help me to never take this gift for granted.
As a mother, I lift up my sons to You today. Cover them in the understanding of Your sacrifice. Let them continue to grow to know not just the story of the cross, but the power of it. Continue to teach them to walk in purpose, to live in truth, and to recognize that they were bought with a price.
Let Your love continue to shape them into the men You have called them to be.
Father, on this sacred day, soften my heart. Align my life with Your will. Remind me daily that the cross was not the end but the beginning of victory.
Help me to live in a way that reflects the sacrifice that saved me.
Thank You for Your unfailing love. Thank You for the cross. Thank You that because Your son died… I can truly live.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Let’s Talk Mom to Mom
Mom… can we be honest for a moment?
It’s easy to read about the cross, to hear the story of Good Friday, and still move through our days carrying worry, stress, and the weight of motherhood. Between raising sons, caring for our families, and trying to hold everything together, we don’t always stop to sit with what Jesus truly did for us.
But today… let’s slow down.
He didn’t just die for the world, He died for you. For your fears. For your silent prayers. For the tears you cried that no one saw. For the moments you felt overwhelmed trying to be everything your sons need.
And because of the cross… you don’t have to carry it all alone.
Mom, the same power that tore the veil is the same power that gives you direct access to God in every moment of your life and motherhood. You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to talk to Him and trust Him.
As you reflect on Good Friday, ask yourself:
- Am I truly living in the freedom Jesus died to give me?
- Am I modeling for my sons what it means to depend on God?
- Do my sons see faith in me… not just hear it from me?
This season of motherhood you’re in, it’s not random. God trusted you with your sons on purpose. And one of the greatest gifts you can give them is not perfection… It’s showing them what a life surrendered to God looks like.
So today, Mom… release the pressure. Lay it at the cross. Because He already carried it for you.
If this spoke to your heart, take a moment today to pray, not just for your sons, but for yourself. You are the daughter of the King of Kings, remember that.
Declaration
Today, I choose to live in the freedom Jesus died to give me. I will not carry what He already bore on the cross. I am covered, I am redeemed, and I am never alone. As a mother, I will walk in faith and will continue to lead my sons toward Christ.
Because He died… I will live with purpose, peace, and power!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
